Let's talk

My approach...

At the heart of my practice is a commitment to working within BACP Ethical guidelines to provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space for the work of therapy.

Throughout our lives, we often feel a conflict between our inner experiences and the structures we've built  to fit in, find acceptance, love, and respect. Therapy is a shared exploration of these structures, so they may be disentangled from present experience. Through the process of working with a therapist, we can discover, explore, and experience our unique shape, pattern, and wholeness in safety.  In therapy we learn how to  integrate the disparate parts of ourselves, and work toward becoming fully who we already are and how to  realise our potential.

My approach combines Person-Centred, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.

About Me

Thomas Boulter, listening, empathising and being with

From an early age, through personal experience I became aware of the differences between individuals. Learning difficulties and problems at home left me feeling confused and out of place. Initially, this led to fear and defensive mechanisms to protect my vulnerability. Over time, I began to understand how early experiences shape our future, sparking my interest in psychotherapy and the search for ways to facilitate personal change.

In 2015, I began my journey toward becoming a psychotherapist by enrolling in a Cert HE course in psychodynamic counselling at Birkbeck University in London. In 2021, I moved to the Midlands and continued my studies in the Integrative Counselling Degree course at Birmingham Newman University.

In 2024, I registered with the BACP as an Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist and established my private practice.
